LightZone is professional-level digital darkroom software for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux, which started as proprietary software and recently offered as open source. It’s not on the par of Photoshop’s broad array of tools but make no mistake LightZone is a powerful and easy to use tonal control tool. Used in combination with another open source image editing software package Gimp, LightZone is an excellent (and free) alternative to Photoshop. LightZone supports various RAW formats.
