Post processing may save photos that at the firs glance seem completely unusable. The following “before” photo has been taken from the open window of moving bus. The “before” photo is bleak and littered with road signs. We use Gimp, an open source image editing software package, to edit this photo.
As the first step we crop the image, which still lives us with the littered right lower corner.
We use clone tool to mop up the right lower corner.
Now we use Curves or Levels to improve exposure and Saturation to stress vivid colors of waterfront houses and after some fine tuning we have the final image.
